Pournami Pottekat is a Product Designer @ Kahana currently building voice-first browsing experience for Oasis.

Through intentionality and empathy, I deliver actionable insights that drive product success — combining mixed-method research with data-driven decision making.

I hold Master's in HCI/d from Indiana University Bloomington, but I'm originally from India, where I studied Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai.

While I take on various roles in projects—including design, development and product management—I'm most passionate about user research. It's always been the most rewarding aspect of my work.

I’m currently seeking for UX Research opportunities where I can make an impact in AI, Conversational AI, Freight Tech or other spaces challenging enough where I could grow as a researcher along with the product.

Design Lead, Google Developer Student Club SIES GST

Organized workshops, speaker sessions and hackathons related to design for a community of engineers interested in UX.

Aug 2021 — May 2023

UX Designer, Tech Team SIES GST

Led the redesign of the Student Portal and Companion App for the SIES GST Student Council, now actively used by 1500+ students to manage college fest, train pass allocations, exchanging notes, join student clubs and more.

Led a small team of designers and hosted talks and workshops on design thinking, Figma, and more for 100+ students.

Aug 2021 — May 2023

Design Engineer, Codechef Chapter SIES GST

Designed and developed ReactJS components for a competitive coding website that hosted national-level coding hackathons for engineering students, attracting 300+ student registrations.
